Before Endodontic Treatment
Local Anesthesia and Recovery
Endodontic treatment is typically performed using local anesthesia to help patients remain comfortable throughout the procedure. In many cases, patients are able to drive themselves home and return to their usual routine the same day, unless we recommend otherwise based on their individual needs.
Our team will review what to expect after treatment and provide clear recovery instructions before you leave the clinic. For patients who may benefit from additional relaxation during care, nitrous oxide is also available. Key benefits of our approach to anesthesia and recovery include:
Comfortable Care With Local Anesthesia
Nitrous Oxide Available for Added Relaxation
Clear Post-Treatment Instructions and Guidance
Supportive Follow-Up if Questions Arise
Preparing for Your Appointment
Please continue taking medications for blood pressure, diabetes, thyroid conditions, or other medical concerns as directed by your physician. If you have any questions about your medications prior to your visit, we recommend contacting our clinic for guidance.
We suggest eating a normal meal before your appointment, depending on the time of your visit, to help you feel comfortable during and after treatment. If your physician or dentist has recommended antibiotic premedication due to a specific medical condition, be sure to take it as instructed prior to your appointment.
If you are able to take anti-inflammatory medication such as ibuprofen or naproxen, it may be helpful to take it before your visit as directed by your healthcare provider. If you have any questions or concerns before your appointment, please contact our team and we will be happy to assist you.
